There is a big buzz about the film around Kollywood and his fans, which will be Ajith’s 50th golden jubilee film.
For Ajith fans there is good news, as in the teaser trailer he looks awesome.
The film has six songs tuned by Yuvan Shankar Raja, who is teaming up with Ajith for the fourth time. In a recent interview to a leading English daily, Yuvan said: “Ajith had called me up to say that once again we should rock with the music ofMankatha. I’m taking extra care to compose for the film”. Maybe, it is too early to get on with Ajith Kumar’s next year’s project as the actor hasn’t started shooting for his 50th film “Mankatha’. But reports were that the actor had decided to get couple of his films released every year.
Director Vishnuvardhan had openly admitted that he has completed working on script for “Billa-2′ and is ready to kick – start the project whenever Ajith Kumar is ready. Later, there were some stories popping up that director Vijay had narrated a script based on period film, which apparently impressed the actor.

Venkat Prabhu, after consulting a leading numerologist has decided to change the spelling of Ajith’s 50th film from Mangaatha to Mankatha. Venkat Prabhu says the spelling has been changed, as it now adds up to his lucky number five.
Mankatha is going to be a bi-lingual in Tamil and Telugu and the mother of all multi starrer’s. It will have Ajith, Telugu superstar Nagarjuna, Manoj Manchu, Ganesh Venkatraman, Premgi Amaran and newcomer Maahat. The heroines are yet to be confirmed, though Lakshmi Rai is likely to be part of the star cast.
Yuvan Shankar Raja is going to provide music for the film, which will start rolling in September in Chennai and later important scenes will be shot abroad.
Venkat Prabhu in an interview to a English daily has said: “ The film will be treated like on the lines of Bourne Identity. The audiences will see dry land, snowfalls, lush green fields and buzzing traffic in every alternative frame.”
Venkat and Yuvan are now busy preparing the three minute teaser trailer of Mankatha, which will be shown along with producer Dayanidhi Alagiri’s Naan Mahaan Alla, releasing on August 20.
